From Mariental to Windhoek, the Grade 5 - 7 learners of !Aimablaagte Primary School travelled to experience the world of dairy first-hand on Friday, 31 July 2026.
The school was the winning entry in Nammilk’s “It’s What’s Inside My Future” competition, which challenged learners to create a short video showcasing the #PowerOfDairy in their everyday lives.
Their creativity earned them an exciting prize: a journey from their home base in Mariental to Windhoek for the day, where they had the opportunity to experience the world of Nammilk first-hand through an exclusive tour of the Namibia Dairies Manufacturing Plant in Avis. Following Nammilk’s recognition as the Most Admired Non-Alcoholic Beverage Brand at the 16th Africa’s Best Brands Awards in June 2026, the visit gave the learners an up-close look at how Nammilk is made, processed and packaged, offering them a glimpse into the people, technology and processes behind Namibia’s most admired non-alcoholic beverage brand.
The competition invited learners to think about what dairy means to them - not simply as something they consume, but as part of their daily lives that powers their growth and ultimately, their future. Through their video, !Aimablaagte Primary School brought the #PowerOfDairy to life in their own unique way, capturing the important role dairy plays in their world.

Their winning entry ultimately took them beyond the classroom and into a real dairy manufacturing environment.
During their visit to Namibia Dairies, the learners went behind the scenes to see what happens before Nammilk products reach consumers. They were introduced to the manufacturing environment and gained insight into the people, processes, technology and quality standards that come together to produce Nammilk products enjoyed by families across Namibia.

For many of the learners, the experience connected what they already knew about dairy with the science, technology and careers behind it.
The experience also highlighted an important message at the heart of the “It’s What’s Inside My Future” campaign: there is power in what we put inside ourselves, but there is also power in what we discover, learn and imagine for our futures.
The learners’ journey from Mariental to Windhoek was a celebration of that very idea.
What began with a short video about the #PowerOfDairy became an opportunity to explore a real-world industry, ask questions and see the possibilities that exist beyond the classroom.

For Nammilk, the competition was about more than finding a winning video. It was about giving young Namibians a platform to express themselves creatively while encouraging them to recognise the positive role dairy can play in their lives.
And for !Aimablaagte Primary School, the prize was more than a trip.
It was an experience to remember - one that took their #PowerOfDairy from the classroom in Mariental to the production floor in Avis.

From what’s inside their Nammilk to what’s inside their future, these young learners are already showing us that the possibilities are worth exploring.
